Students go back to primary school
Fourteen students in Year 7 went back to their former primary school, St Luke’s CE, to share their experience of moving up to secondary school.
They spoke to Year 6 pupils who are deciding which school they want to move up to in September 2016. The students shared their thoughts on what made them choose The Radclyffe School and what was involved in the transition.
Learning Mentor Tina Cavanagh said, “Going back to their primary school for the first time since July was a good experience for the students. They caught up with their old teachers and friends. Sharing their experience was helpful for them, as well as for the Year 6 pupils who might feel a little daunted by the thought of changing schools.”
When students have accepted a place at The Radclyffe School they attend an Induction Day in July prior to starting in September. The excellent relationship that The Radclyffe School enjoys with local primary schools gives pupils an early glimpse of the facilities and activities we offer.
The closing date for applications is 31st October. The children are then informed of which school they have been offered on 1 March 2016.
