City’s symbol inspires artwork
Did you know that this summer Manchester will be visited by 100 giant bees? And one of them will find a permanent home at The Radclyffe School?
Bee in the City is expected to be the largest public art event ever held in Greater Manchester. We are delighted to be amongst the many businesses and organisations across the region who will be designing and decorating the sculptures. Students have created their design and this is being created by artist Barry Spence, who previously painted the mural in our Assembly Hall.
The completed artwork will travel into Manchester in June to form part of a trail around the city, where it will be seen by thousands of visitors. Once the event finishes our bee will return to school as the latest addition to the growing sculpture park outside Student Entrance.
The trail will be opened from July to September. If you would like to find out more, and find The Radclyffe School bee in Manchester, visit www.beeinthecitymcr.co.uk
