The school provides careers advisors who can give advice on all aspects of future careers and prepare your child for life after education.
Positive Steps Oldham Careers Advisers are available at The Radclyffe School to deliver Information, Advice and Guidance with a particular focus on Careers to all students in years 9, 10 and 11.
The advisers – Rowena Starr and Suzanne Nixon are available in school 5 days a week. They work with students through individual appointments and delivering lessons and assemblies. They help them to think about their future plans. This includes helping students think about what options to take in year 9, looking at work experience opportunities in year 10 and helping them decide what route is best for them post 16 – either college, employment or training in year 11.
They can give information on specific careers, help complete application forms, give advice about part-time and full-time work and help with interview technique amongst other things.
The advisers are also happy to work with parents and are available at all year 9, 10 and 11 parents’ evenings. During school holidays advisers are available to contact at ‘The Centre’ in Oldham on Union Street.
