PE-xcellence rewarded at The Radclyffe School

‘An outstanding contribution to school sport in Oldham’ has led to the PE Department at The Radclyffe School being recognised with an award from Oldham School Sport.

The award recognises the high participation and engagement with school sports competition. The panel of judges noted that the school’s contribution to school sport, in hosting and delivering events for both primary and secondary schools is outstanding.

The school is strongly committed to the Young Leader programme. This provides an exceptional number of opportunities for the school’s young leaders to get involved in assisting at a range of sports competitions.

Oldham School Games Organiser Steve Tyrell said, “I visit The Radclyffe School frequently and on every occasion I have been impressed with the professionalism of the staff and by the standards of teaching I encounter during those visits.”

Head of PE at The Radclyffe School, Simon Mellor added, “We are very pleased and proud to receive this award. We have a great team who regularly give up their time after school and during lunchtimes. We make sure that a large number of students of all abilities get involved, and in a wide range of different sports.”
