Manchester Skills Show visit for Year 11

Students explore their skills and where it can lead them

Manchester Convention Centre was the destination for a group of final year students, as they attended the Manchester Skills Show.

The event helped the young people to consider their future after GCSE and show them the breadth of options available to them, and in particular at Manchester College.

The exciting event included live DJ sets, a cabin crew demonstration for anyone interested in travel and tourism, and a visual arts and media fashion show.

Students also took time to speak to staff from more than 25 curriculum areas, with advice and guidance on future pathways.

Learning Mentor Tina Cavanagh, said, “We want our students to have the highest aspirations and as they reach their potential at GCSE they can go on to college, to apprenticeships or other opportunities. The event was an eye opener for the students of just how much choice is on offer that they can take advantage of.”
