Gospel Music Concert

Students’ voices raised in Gospel performance

Students at the Radclyffe School were put through their Gospel paces by two professional Gospel singers at a wide-ranging singing workshop, ahead of a performance at Newman College on Friday 25th November.

The singers worked with Tyndale and Kadria Thomas, from Voice Assembly, to learn the techniques of Gospel, as well as four songs that were performed at the concert.

The combined school choirs were joined by Oldham-based Soul Inspiration Gospel Choir.

During the concert the choir sang four songs, Bill Withers’ Lean on Me, Put a Little Love in your Heart by Al Green and Annie Lennox and two composed by Tyndale and Kadria, Light a Candle and Join Hands.

Head of Music Daniel Corrigan said, “The students learned so much from the workshop, making them better singers and having a really enjoyable time”.

Aa large and appreciative audience enjoyed the inspiring concert at Newman College. Mr Corrigan added, “Performing in front of an audience and in harmony with the choir was an unforgettable experience for our students. Vocal performances at The Radclyffe School are going from strength to strength.”
