Fine dining transformation celebrates students’ talents
Students studying GCSE Hospitality have presented their cooking to a discerning audience this term – the school’s own staff.
Three evenings of fine dining at The Radclyffe School assessed the skills of the Year 11 students as part of their GCSE studies. The students prepared delicious three-course dinners for their invited guests, before serving the meals in a restaurant setting.
The school’s drama studio was transformed for the evenings, with tables attractively decorated and set for up to 40 diners. The students designed and prepared everything from menus and table decorations to the lighting and music.
The students prepared the meals throughout the day in the school’s well equipped teaching kitchens. During their studies the students have developed their abilities in preparing and presenting a three course dinner.
Comments from staff were very positive about the food prepared and the attractive ambience created on each evening.
